Motorbike used in SP’s wife killing recovered

Police claimed to have recovered a motorcycle used in killing of Superintendent of Police Babul Akhter’s wife from Solokbahar area in Chittagong early Monday.

Sources at Panchlaish police station said police recovered the motorcycle on a road in Baro Garage area early in the morning.

Later the motorcycle was handed over to the Detective Branch of police, UNB reported.

Meanwhile, a case was filed in connection with the murder of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, 32, wife of the police officer, Babul Akhter, on Sunday night.

Tri Ratan Barua, Officer-in-Charge of Panchlaish police station, filed the case naming three people as accused at night, said Asif Mahmud, assistant commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.

Unidentified miscreants gunned down Mahmuda Khanam at the city's GEC intersection on Sunday morning while she went there to drop her son, Mahir Akhter, 7, for a bus to Chittagong Cantonment Public School and College.
