1 remanded over Christian grocer killing

A court here on Tuesday placed Sabuj Ali, who was arrested in connection with the killing of Christian missionary Sunil Gomez, on a two-day remand, reports the UNB.

 

Senior judicial magistrate Shamsul Al Amin passed the remand order in the morning.

 

Earlier on Monday, inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of police Abdul Hai, also investigation officer of the case for the murder, filed a petition on Monday seeking a five-day remand for Sabuj.

 

A DB team detained Sabuj from the village on Sunday evening for interrogation about the killing.

 

Sunil Gomez, 60, a grocer and a former employee of Banpara Christian Missionary, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants at Banpara Christian Palli in Baraigram upazila of Natore at noon the same day.
