Attempt on businessman Ranjit’s life: Prime accused held

Criminal Investigation Department arrested the prime accused in the case for the killing attempt on Christian businessman Ranjit in Pabna from the capital on Wednesday night, reports the UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Badsha Molla, 33, a resident of Nengri village in Charmohor upazila.
Tipped off, a team of police arrested Badsha from the capital at night, confirmed Officer-in-charge of Chatmohor Police Station Subrato Kumar Sarker.
Earlier on May 29, Ranjit Rozario, 30, son of George Rozario, was hacked by miscreants at Foiljana village of the upazila.
He deals in fertilizers.
Pallabi Rozario, wife of Ranjit, said Badsha Molla, a resident of Nengri village, had an illicit affair with the wife of an expatriate of Foiljana village.
Ranjit along with some other people caught them red-handed in an objectionable state which was disposed through arbitration.
As a sequel to that, Badsha along with his associates attacked their house and chopped Ranjit and fled the scene.
Later, Ranjit filed a case accusing Badsha with the police station.
