Dhaka-Ctg rail link snapped after Feni level crossing mishap

Rail communications of Chittagong with Dhaka has been snapped as a freight train derailed after colliding with a truck at Fatehpur level crossing in Feni Sadar Upazila early Thursday.

Railways sources said the engine of a Dhaka-bound container-laden train from Chittagong veered off the track around 2:45am after crashing into a truck that remained stuck at the level crossing getting out of order, halting train movement on the Dhaka-Chittagong route.

Besides, traffic on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway was also suspended following the accident, causing immense suffering to the passengers.

However, two relief trains from Laksham and Chittagong rushed to the spot to salvage the engine.
