Fertilizer factory gas leak stopped

Gas leak, originated from a tank leak in the Diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer factory has been brought under control.
The leak stopped around 5 am Tuesday morning.
Chittagong District Commissioner Mejbah Uddin confirmed the matter to Samakal.
About 250 people fell sick by inhaling gas leaking from a tank of a Diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer factory in Chittagong's Anwara.
Of them, 55 were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The incident occurred around 10:00 pm when the factory was set to close.
The gas has spread across to the other bank of the river Karnaphuli after the leak at the factory adjacent to Chittagong Urea Fertilizer Ltd (CUFL) factory on Monday night.
