Case filed for 'suicide provocation' to RU teacher

A case has been filed for alleged suicide provocation to Akter Jahan Joly, an Associate Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department at Rajshahi University.

Kamuul Hasan Ratan, younger brother of the RU teacher, filed the case with Motihar Police Station on Saturday afternoon.

Confirming about the case, Humayun Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Motihar Police Station, said no one has been made accused in the case.

Police recovered the body of Akter Jahan from the campus quarters on Friday. She used to live in room-303 of university’s bachelors’ quarters named Jubery Bhaban.

Police also found a suicide note inside her room. In her suicide note she wrote “No one is responsible for my death. I have committed suicide due to mental and physical stress”.
