2 more bodies recovered from Tampaco debris

Fire-Fighters have recovered two more bodies under the debris of gutted Tampaco Foils packaging factory in Tongi, climbing the death toll to 31.

The bodies were pulled out of the rubble this morning, said Akhtaruzzaman, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur fire service.

The Fire-fighters found four bodies under the debris of the factory yesterday while another victim Ripon Das, 35, died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, a team of army men led by Lt Col Shafiul Alam joined the rescue operation at the factory around 6:30am today.

In the early hours of Saturday, a deadly fire triggered at Tampaco Foils packaging factory in Tongi BSCIC industrial area of Gazipur. Till now, 31 people were killed and more than 70 injured in the fire.
