3 more bodies found under debris of Tampaco

Three more bodies were recovered under the debris of gutted Tampaco Foils packaging factory in Tongi, climbing the death toll from the deadly fire incident to 39.

Fire-Fighters pulled out the remains of the two victims around 11:00am on Monday and another around 1:00pm while removing rubble around.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi Police Station Firoz Talukdar confirmed the matter to Samakal.

The bodies could not be identified yet, he said adding that the members of army and firefighter are continuing their rescue operation.

In the early hours of September 10, a deadly fire triggered at Tampaco Foils packaging factory in Tongi BSCIC industrial area of Gazipur. The fire apparently triggered by a boiler explosion killed at last 39 people and injured nearly 40.
