Action for failing to relocate tanneries to Savar by Dec 30: Amu

Hazaribagh tanners must be relocated to Savar by December 30, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has warned.

“Otherwise proper measures will be taken,” he voiced after visiting Savar Leather Industrial Park on Sunday morning.

All sorts of utility services including gas and electricity supplies will be cut off from their establishments if they failed to relocate by the stimulated time, he said.

The minister also said that the factories those won’t start relocation process, their contracts may be terminated and legal actions including eviction drives will be taken after the deadline, the minister said at a press briefing.
