Indigenous man found dead in Gaibandha

A man of indigenous Santal community was found dead in a sugarcane field of Baghda Farm area in Gobindaganj upazila on Monday night.

The details about the deceased could not be known immediately, UNB reports.

Subrata, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station, said locals spotted his body in the field around 11pm and informed police.

Later police recovered the body.

Earlier on Sunday, a Santal man, Shyamal Soren, was killed and 30 others injured in a clash that ensued when the Santal community protested the grabbing of their lands by some sugar mill workers with the help of police.
