No reason to be concerned over law and order in NCC polls: CEC

There is no reason to be concerned over the law and order situation in Narayanganj City Corporation polls, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad said today.

He said this while speaking at a programme as the chief guest in Narayanganj Club Limited where district Deputy Commissioner Rabbi Mia and other government high-ups were present.

Kazi Rakibuddin said that his commission is capable of holding a peaceful election in Narayanganj as they are bound to hold free and fair polls.

All necessary measures will be taken to maintain the law and order situation for holding a free, fair and credible election in Narayanganj, said the CEC.

Narayanganj City Corporation polls will be held on December 22. BNP picks Sakhawat Hossain Khan as Narayanganj mayor candidate while ruling Awami League nominates Selina Hayat Ivy to seek re-election as Narayanganj mayor.
