Sylhet college girl Jhuma’s 'attacker' held

Police have arrested Bahar Uddin, the prime accused in the case filed over the attack on college girl Elina Akhter Jhuma from Sylhet’s Zakiganj upazila.  

Bahar was nabbed from Mirzachar Haor area under Zakiganj upazila around 8:00am on Thursday, Zakiganj Police Station OC Habibur Rahman Haoladar told Samakal.

 
Jhuma, who is now undergoing treatment at MAG Osmani Medical College with critical condition, was hacked allegedly by Bahar near Kaliganj Bazar area of the upazila on Sunday.

Jhuma‘s family filed a case with Zakiganj Police Station on the following day accusing Bahar. Earlier police detained Bahar’s elder brother Nasir Uddin.

Jhuma is studying at Bianibazar Government College. Her father Muslim Ali is a day labourer.
