3 killed in Barisal road crash

Three people were killed and another was injured as a private car plunged into a roadside ditch in Barisal on Tuesday morning.

The road accident took place on Dhaka-Barisal highway in Rahmatpur area under Babuganj upazila around 6:30am.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Airport Police Station.

The private car fell into the ditch in the area after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two people dead on the spot and two others injured, he said.

The injured were taken to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries, added the OC.
