3 killed as buses collide head-on in Savar

Three people were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka.

The road accident took place on Bapail-Abdullahpur highway in Ashulia Bazar area on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Morium, 30, wife of Abdul Malek from Comilla, Abbas Ali, 28, son of Akkas Ali from Khulna and Swadesh, 40, driver of Eagle Paribahan.

Ashulia Police Station OC Mohsinul Kadir said the Dhaka-bound bus of 'Eagle Paribahan' collided with another bus of 'Anando Super' in the area, leaving three people dead on the spot and 25 others injured.

The injured were admitted to different hospitals in Ashulia, said the OC adding that the two buses have been seized.
