Mayor Miru, 5 remanded in Shimul murder case

Sirajgnaj's Shahjadpur Municipality Mayor Halimul Haque Miru and five others were remanded for five-day in Samakal Journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul murder case.

Shahjadpur Senior Judicial Magistrate M Hasibul Haque passed the order on Monday morning, in response to, a police plea for seven-day remand.

Investigating officer of the case Manirul Islam confirmed the matter.

On February 2, the Daily Samakal’s Shahjadpur Correspondent was shot during a factional clash Shahjadpur between the supporters of ousted Shahjadpur Municipality Awami League president Abdur Rahim (VP Rahim) and the party unit's Organisational Secretary and Mayor Miru in Monirampur area of Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur.

Later, the journalist succumbed to his injuries on the following day.
