3 killed in Bogra road crash

At least three people were killed and two others injured as a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Banani area of Bogra this evening.

The dead were identified as Saiful Islam, 33, of Shahjahanpur upazila, CNG driver Abul Kalam Azad, 32, of Sherpur upazila and Sharifa Akter Gini, 35, of Nandigram upazila.

Police said driver of the auto-rickshaw lost control over the steering in the area around 5:30pm and collided head-on with a Bogra-bound truck, leaving one dead and four others injured.

The injured were rushed to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital where two died while undergoing treatment, said Shah Alam, Sub-inspector of Silimpur Police Outpost.
