4 killed in Cox's Bazar road crash

At least four people were killed after a microbus fell into a roadside ditch in Chakoria upazila of Cox's Bazar on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as microbus driver Amir Hossain, 35, Ayesha Akter Shilpi, 20, her sister Kulsuma Begum Sumi, 25, and Mohammad Kibria, 40.

Chiringa highway police in-charge Nurul Islam said a Cox’s Bazar-bound microbus skidded the road and fell into a roadside ditch in Gailmara area under the upazila as the driver lost his control over the steering, leaving the four dead on the spot.

The bodies were recovered and sent those to the Chakoria Upazila Health Complex, he said.
