Youth gets death for killing wife

A Natore court awarded death penalty to a youth in a case filed for killing his wife.

Judge Rezaul Karim of the district's Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal delivered the verdict on Thursday.

Besides the death penalty, the court also fined Tk 100000 to the convict Kajal Kumar Sarkar.   

AKM Shahjahan Kabir, special public prosecutor of the court, confirmed the matter to Samakal.

According to the case statement, on October 12 in 2015, the convict strangled his wife Mina Rani to death for dowry.

The victim's father started a case the following day and police arrested Kajal.
