Miru’s aide held over journo Shimul murder

One of the aides of Sirajganj's Shahjadpur municipality Mayor Halimul Haque Miru, has been detained in a case filed in connection with the murder of journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul.

 

The aide was identified as Dulal Hossain, 42.

 

Police detained him from Bonainagar area of Pabna, this noon.

 

Mayor Halimul Haque Miru was also held in connection with the murder of Samakal's Shahjadpur Correspondent- Abdul Hakim Shimul.

 

Samakal Journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul sustained bullet wounds during a clash between the supporters of ousted Shahjadpur Municipality Awami League president Abdur Rahim (VP Rahim) and the party unit's Organizational Secretary and Mayor Halimul Haque Miru in Monirampur area of Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur in last month.

 

Shimul succumbed to his injuries later on while being taken to Dhaka from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogra for better treatment.
