2 killed in Sylhet clash over cattle stealing

One person was chopped by cattle thief while a villager killed during a clash with police regarding the issue at Mostafanagar village under Companyganj upazila Saturday morning.

Sylhet District police spokesperson and also additional SP Suggyan Chakma said a group of cattle thief chopped a cattle owner Zilu Miah around 4:00am as he tried to deter them from robbery.

Sensing the presence of robbers, the villagers also chased them and caught one of the gang members Sonai Sardar.

Later on, police asked to hand over the robber to them, but locked into a clash will villagers as they refused to give Sonai Sardar, leaving the villager Mafiz Miah dead on the spot and over 50 people injured.
