Hartal underway peacefully in 3 CHT dists

The dawn to dusk hartal, enforced by CHT Bangalee Chhatra Parishad, is underway peacefully in the three hill districts today.

The called the strike for their eight points demand including CHT quota on admission and appointment in Rangamati Medical College and Rangamati Science and Technology University; revocation of the draft of the CHT Land Dispute Resolution Commission (Amendment) Bill.

No vehicle was seen plying the roads in Rangamati while no long-route bus left the district town from Monday morning.

A large number of policemen have been deployed in several points of the districts to fend off any trouble.
