Police attacked in Comilla, 2 held

Miscreants fired shots and hurled a bomb towards police while conducting a regular search on a bus in Comilla.

The incident took place on Dhaka- Chittagong highway in Khadghar area of Chandina upazila around 11:30am on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, police detained the two attackers after a shootout, including one bullet-riddled.

Mahabubur Rahman, OC of Moynamoti Highway Police Station, said a 'Shyamoli Paribahan' bus was stopped by the police check-post on the highway for a regular search.

Sensing the presence of policemen, the miscreants fired shots and hurled a bomb on them, prompting the law enforcer to fire which left a miscreant bullet injured, he said.

Police also recovered four crude bombs from their possession, he added.
