Pir, follower slaughtered in Dinajpur

A Pir (spiritual leader) and his follower have been slaughtered in Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur.

The incident took place at Doula village of Setabganj under the upazila on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Pir Farhad Hossain Chowdhury, a former president of the BNP's Dinajpur Municipality unit, and his follower Rupali Begum.

Confirming the matter, Hasibul Islam Prodhan, Officer-in-Charge of Bochaganj Police Station, said details in this regard could not be known.

The incident happened around 8:00pm to 8:30pm tonight, added the OC.
