Suicide blast: Security beefed up at Rajshahi Jail

Following a bomb attack at proposed headquarters of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Dhaka, the authorities of Rajshahi Jail, have increased security at the prison there today.

 

Senior Jail Super of Rajshahi Central Jail, Halima Khatun, has confirmed in this regard, to Samakal.

 

Additional security forces have been deployed in the jail, says Halima.

 

Earlier additional precautions have been taken at every airports and jails across the country following the incident happened in the capital and number of security personnel has also been increased at important places.

 

A suspected suicide bomber blew himself-up when he was barred to enter into the temporary camp of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Haji camp area of Dhaka’s Ashkona.

 

The incident took place around 1:15pm on Friday.

 

According to RAB, a youth was trying to enter inside the temporary RAB office (proposed headquarters) in the area by climbing over its wall but the duty members of the elite force blocked him.

 

Then he blew himself up, says RAB.
