'Follower' arrested in Dinajpur Pir, woman murder

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested a man allegedly a followers of the murdered 'Pir' (spiritual leader) in a case of killing the 'Pir' and his adopted daughter.

Rangpur RAB-13 Commander ATM Atikullah confirmed the matter to Sanakal.

Shafiqul Alam was arrested from Joymonirhat Bazar under Kurigram's Bhurangamari upazila.

Earlier on March 13, Pir Farhad Hossain Chowdhury, a former president of the BNP's Dinajpur Municipality unit, and his adopted daughter Rupali Begum were slaughtered in Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur.
