Elderly couples stabbed bodies found in Bandarban

Police recovered two blood-stained bodies of an elderly couples from Marma-dominated Chotopara area in Bandarban's Lama on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Kya Hla Marma, 75, and his wife Ching Hla marma, 65.

Deceased's son Mong Kya Hla said his wife spotted her mother-in-law's stabbed body while she came the house for cook in the morning. Later, other family members rushed there and saw slaughtered body of Kya Hla.

Youngcha Chotopara chief (Karbari) Ansaipru Marma said there was no enmity with this couple, rather have very good relationships.

Lama Than officer-in-charge Anwar Hossain said they recovered the bodies and sent those to the District Sadar Hospital morgue. However, none was arrested in this connection.

District superintendent of Police Sanjit Kumar Roy said police are investigating the matter.
