Elderly woman rescued from 'Atia Mahal'

Members of Army rescued an elderly woman from a alleged military den 'Atia Mahal' at Sibbari area under Dakshin Surma upazila in Sylhet on Sunday.

The woman is identified as Josna, 70.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police additional commissioner Rokonuddin told Samakal on Sunday that sick Josna was alone in the house. She was sent to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital.

Brigadier General Fakhrul Ahsan, of the army headquarters said "Including 21 women and 30 men, a total of 78 persons were rescued from the operation zone. The militants from inside the house have hurled 10 to 12 grenades toward the law enforcement members.

Earlier the army codenamed the assault as 'Operation Twilight' changing from 'Operation Spring Rain' which was given by Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).
