Entry restricted in 1 sq km around Sylhet 'Atia Mahal'

Police on Monday restricted the entry in 1 square kilometer area around 'Atia Mahal', alleged military den in Shibbari of South Surma in Sylhet.

The law enforcers made the declaration around 11:30am and media is also prohibited to enter the area.

The joint force is continuing the drive "Operation Twilight" on Monday too in alleged military den "Atia Mahal" in Shibbari of South Surma in Sylhet.

The sounds of firing and blast can be heard from 6:30-7:00am at a stress and later continued disrupted firing till 8:30am.

Earlier on Sunday, Brig Gen Fakhrul Ahsan, spokesman of the operation said two militants have been killed inside the militant den

“We are sure that two militants have been killed in the firing while one of them blasted suicide vast,” he said in the 3rd day of the standoff at ‘Atia Mahal’.

“The militants are well trained. Two or more militants are staying inside the hideout including the female ones,” he said.

“The entire area has become risky as explosives are everywhere of the building. Considering the overall situation, it will take more time for the operation to complete,” he said.
