Maldivian Vogue model found hanging in Rajshahi

Police on Wednesday recovered the hanging body of a female Maldivian student from the dormitory of Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi.
The dead, Raudha Athif, 20, was a second year student of the medical college. Maldives citizen Raudha was a model and featured in Vogue magazine.
Police are primarily suspecting that Raudha committed suicide as they found the body hanging from a ceiling fan with a scarf in her dorm room.
According to police and the college sources, Raudha used to reside in no. 209 room of the dorm. Other foreign students knocked the door of the room this morning finding it shut. Getting no response after so many attempts, they broke the door. Later, they informed the authorities after finding her hanging from the ceiling fan with a long scarf.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner (RMP) Shafiqul Islam said, “We will be confirmed about the cause of dead after getting autopsy report though we are primarily suspecting that she committed suicide.
If it will be a suicide then the police will investigate the cause of the matter, added Shafiqul Islam.
