UP member stabbed dead in Laxmipur

A union parishad member was stabbed to death by miscreants in Patwary Haat in Sadar upazila on Friday night, UNB reports.

Abdullah Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Sadar police Station, said a gang of miscreants attacked Faruk Hossain, a UP member of ward No 2 of Uttar Hamchadi union and joint general secretary of the union unit of Awami League, stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured while he was returning home around 11:30pm.

He was taken to Sadar Hospital and then being moved to Dhaka for better treatment, but died on the way.
