4 Chapainawabganj militants buried

The four militants, killed in an operation at the militant den of Shibnagar Trimohoni in Shibganj upazila, were buried at Chapainawabganj municipality graveyard early Saturday.

The bodies were buried around 1:45, said sources at the municipality office, UNB reports.

Earlier, the postmortems on the bodies were completed around 6:30pm on Friday.

Dr Shafiqul Islam, one of the physicians who conducted the autopsies on the four bodies at Sadar Hospital, said there were marks of bullets on the chest and back of ‘Neo JMB’ functionary Abul Kalam alias Abu, while his three associates died in explosions.

The four militants, including Abu, were killed during the operation, ‘Eagle Hunt’, conducted by Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) at the militant den on Thursday.

Abu’s wife Sumaiya and their four-year-old daughter Sahida were rescued from the den as injured.
