25 pirates surrendered with firearms: Samakal
A total of 25 pirates of Sundarbans have been surrendered to police including the chiefs of two forces, Alif and Kobiraz there at Patuakhali today.
The pirates have been surrendered to police around 11am at Shilpakal auditorium at Patuakhali, this morning.
They also placed a total of 31 local-foreign fire arms to the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal during a program in the auditorium.
Separate high officials of the Rapid Action Battalion were present in the program on the day.
The pirates include- Md Alif Mollah alias Doyal, 42; Rezaul Islam Sheikh, 28; Safinur Rahman Safi, 20; Abdulla Al Mamun Alias Abdullah, 40 and Hazara Ali, 38.
A case was filed accusing all 25 pirates in this connection, say RAB sources.
