106 hotels in St. Martin asked to remove structures by May 10

Department Of Environment asked the authorities of 106 residential hotels in the Environmental Concerned Area (ECA) St. Martin to remove their illegally constructed structures by May 10.

Notices in this regard were sent to the hotel authorities on Saturday, said Md. Mubinul Islam, inspector of the environment department's Cox's Bazar office.

Md. Masud Karim, director of environment department's Chittagong divisional office, said the authorities have been asked to remove their structures in self-operation as they built those illegally.

If they did not remove the structures by May 10 then legal process will be followed to remove those, he said.

"We all should come forward to protect he only Coral Island of the country St. Martin. The island is now at extreme risk" he also said.

Earlier on April 21, Cox's Bazar office of the environment department asked the authorities to remove 38 residential hotels of the island in self-operation by May 20.
