Belgium queen visits Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar

The Queen of Belgium, Mathilde Marie Christine, visited the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in the Cox's Bazar upazila of Ukhia on Tuesday morning.

She took a special flight from Dhaka and arrived at the Cox's Bazar airport around 10am.

The Queen is visiting Bangladesh for three days to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations. She arrived in the city on Monday and went to a Unicef school and a clothing factory in Dhaka.

The Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC), Md. Mizanur Rahman, and members of the foreign ministry have been with the Queen.

The Queen visited camp 4 in Ukhia after landing in Cox's Bazar and talked to Rohingya women and children there.

She later planted a tree at Rohingya camp 5, he continued.

In the afternoon, she is scheduled to meet with representatives of the Rohingya community, the local government, and a number of foreign organizations, including the UN.
