Narsingdi upazila chairman shot at residence

Harunur Rashid Khan, chairman of Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi district, sustained injuries after being shot in his residence early Saturday.

Confirming the incident Shibpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Feroz Talukder said no one has been arrested in this regard yet.

He said the incident took place early in the morning at his residence.

Harunur Rashid was brought to the Upazila Health Complex and later he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment.

Meanwhile, local Awami League leaders and activists blocked Shibpur college gate bus stand on Dhaka-Itakhola-Monohardi regional highway by setting fire to tyres to protest the incident.
