3 killed in truck-pickup collision in Jamalpur

Three people, including the driver of the pickup, were killed early Sunday morning in a collision between a truck and a pickup in Malanch area of Jamalpur-Dewanganj road in Jamalpur district.

It is known that Dewanganj-bound pickup from Mymensingh collided head-on with the Jamalpur-bound truck from Dewanganj when the two vehicles reached Malanch area of Jamalpur-Dewanganj road, leaving two people dead on the spot. Another person was taken to the hospital in critical condition where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Confirming the death incident, Melandah police station officer-in-charge (OC) Delwar Hossain said that the names and identities of the deceased have not been known so far. 

The bodies were recovered and kept in Melandah Upazila Health Complex, he said, adding that the truck and pickup are in police custody.
