Four including children shot at Ukhiya camp

Four Rohingya refugees, including three children, were injured in a firing at the Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Monday morning.

The injured were identified as Omar Faruq, 7, Md Sefayd, 5, Md Jasim, 6, and Karim Ullah, 55, all inhabitants of Block-A in Camp 8.

Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa) and Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO), two armed groups from Myanmar, are behind the shooting, the locals said.

Confirming the incident, additional deputy inspector general Syed Harunur Rashid, commanding officer of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn-14), said the two groups clashed and exchanged bullets, which injured some people.
