19 Rohingyas, 4 human traffickers detained in Teknaf

Police have detained 19 Rohingyas and including four alleged human traffickers from the Naityang area of Teknaf municipality.

Among those detained are four suspected traffickers, six women, six men, and seven children. They were detained at around 11pm on Friday.

Confirming the incident, Taknaf Model police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Halim said,

Police were tipped off about people being trafficked from Myanmar and gathering at a house in the Naityang area.

After conducting a raid there, the 19 Rohingyas were detained. Four Bangladeshis suspected to be human traffickers were arrested.

The detained people are now being interrogated, the police officer said.
