Newborn stolen from Natore found in Kushtia

Police have rescued a newborn baby from Kushtia who was earlier stolen from the Natore District Hospital by a woman in the guise of a nurse.

A source at the Natore Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter on Saturday.

According to the source, police conducted a drive at Khajanagar of Kushtia on Friday night when they were able to rescue the newborn girl and detained a woman involved in the kidnapping.

The day-old newborn was stolen from Natore District Hospital's Paediatric ward at around 11:30am on Friday. A woman disguised as a nurse took the child from her grandmother's arms, saying she was taking the child to a doctor, and then left the hospital.
