Sylhet City Corporation polls Wednesday

Polls to Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) will be held on Wednesday.

Elections will be held using EVMs in 190 centers under 42 wards of the city corporation.

Faisal Qadir, regional election officer of Sylhet, said the electoral materials have already been sent to all respective polling stations.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed in each polling centres of the city corporation to monitor on live.

Faisal also said five tiers of security measures have been taken to hold the election in a free, fair and credible manner.

As part of security measures, a good number of police, RAB, BGB, Ansar and Armed Police have been deployed, he added.

A total of 4,87,753 voters in the Sylhet City Corporation will cast their vote to choose their mayor and councilors.
