Teenager among 2 killed after bus overturns in Bogura

Two individuals died and two others were injured as a passenger bus lost control and overturned in Shibganj of Bogura.

The incident happened in the Chandihara area on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway at around 6am on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Al Amin 15, and an identified man. The two injured were released after receiving treatment at the Shibganj Upazila Health Complex.

Confirming the incident, Gobindaganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said, A Rangpur-bound Baishakhi Paribahan bus coming from Dhaka lost control and collided with the road divider. The bus overturned and the two passengers died on the spot.

The body of the deceased teenager was handed over to his family, while the unidentified body was kept in police custody.

Legal measures will be taken in this regard, said the OC. The bus driver and his assistant fled, so they could not be detained.
