Two motorcyclists killed in Kushtia road accident

Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway in Kalumor area under Kumarkhali upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Shaheen Miah,42, son of Md Samshul Alam, resident of Jhajhadanga village under Damurhuda Police Station in Chuadanga district and Md. Ikramul, 22, son of Md Salam, resident of Nastipur village under Darshana police station.

The accident occurred in the area when a motorbike collided head-on with a three wheeler engine-run 'Nasimon' around 12.30pm, leaving one person dead on the spot and another critically injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kushtia Highway Police Station Subrat said.

The critically injured was taken to Kushtia Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.

The bodies were taken to Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
