Bus-truck collision kills 2, injures 6 in Cox's Bazar

A collision between a truck and a bus on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway has killed 2 bus passengers, injuring 6 more.

A goods laden-truck caused the accident when it hit a passenger bus from behind near the Harbang Mazar Gate area of Chakaria Upazila at around 6:45am on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Tipu Soltan, 22, and Talha Zubair Sazid, 24. They were both students who were going on a trip to Cox's Bazar. Two more including the bus driver were taken to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in critical condition.

Chiringa Highway Police Sub-Inspector Khokon Kanti Rudra confirmed the matter.

According to eyewitnesses, the two passengers died on the spot. Two of the injured were sent to CMCH, while four more were sent to the Chakaria Upazila Health Complex.
