Female EPZ worker stabbed to death in Natore

A female EPZ worker was stabbed to death in Baraigram of Natore late on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Farzana Aktar Priya. She used to work at the Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (EPZ).

Baraigram Police Station Officer in Charge Abu Siddik said Farzana was going home from work on a battery-run van on Friday night. Some miscreants forced the vehicle to stop at Moshinda area. They then took Farzana to a nearby jute field, stabbed and slit her throat.

Hearing the van driver's pleas for help, locals rushed to the location and notified the police. Police collected evidence from the spot and sent Farzana's body to Natore District Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

The van driver has been detained for interrogation in this regard, the OC said.
