Natore's renowned 'Kachagolla' gains GI status

Kachagolla of Natore, one of the most popular traditional delicacies in the country, has received Geographical Indication (GI) status.

The GI certificate signed by Khondoker Mostafizur Rahman, secretary general of the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks in the Ministry of Industries, was sent to the Natore district commissioner's office.

A GI is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.
