Microbus catches fire on Purbachal Expressway

A moving microbus on the Purbachal Expressway caught fire near to the Kanchan Bridge in the Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj on Saturday afternoon.

The fire accident temporarily resulted in a four-kilometer congestion on both sides of the busy route.

No reports of casualties were found yet, according to our Narayanganj correspondent.

Two Purbachal station firefighting units extinguished the fire soon after the incident.

The local fire department's station chief, Ratan Roy, thinks that the fire was started by an issue with the microbus's engine.
