Fire guts 12 shops in Dighinala

A fire broke out at the Dighinala bus stand of Khagracchari at around 7am on Thursday, burning 12 shops to the ground.

According to the locals, the fire broke out at a food shop at first. Locals contacted the Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) right away, but the fire spread quickly.

A unit of the local FSCD battled the blaze for an hour before it was brought under control. But the origin of the fire could not be found yet.

Dighinala Police Station Officer in Charge Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter, adding that there were no casualties in the fire.

It may be noted that a fire broke out at the same location on May 16, gutting 60 shops.
