Woman, daughter dies from electrocution in Jhenaidah

A woman and her daughter died from electrocution in Goborapara village under the Harinakunda upazila of Jhenaidah on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Mahiran Nesa, 62, and her daughter Taslima Khatun, 35. The incident happened at around 8am.

According to police and locals, Taslima Khatun was electrocuted from an electric wire in their house. After noticing the matter, Mahiran Nesa tried to help her daughter, but she also got electrocuted after touching Taslima's hand.

Locals heard them scream and rushed to the house to find the mother-daughter duo on the floor. They died on the spot.

Confirming the matter, Harinakunda Police Station Officer in Charge Abu Azif said a case has been filed in this regard.
