Road accident kills pedestrian in Gopalganj

A man was killed after he was run over by a microbus on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Gopalganj on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Bidyut Kumar Bhowmik, a businessman. The incident occurred in the Daserhat village of Muksudpur upazila of the district.

Confirming the incident, Muksudpur Police Station Officer in Charge Muhammad Ashraful Alam said, Bhowmik was taking a morning walk on Monday. He was walking along the side of the highway when a Khulna-bound microbus ran him over. He died on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and brought it to the Upazila Health Complex. On request from the relatives, the body was handed over to them without an autopsy.
