Parked bus torched in Bagerhat

Miscreants torched a bus which was parked at the bus stand near Foila Bazar of Rampal in Bagerhat at around 9am on Tuesday.

The fire burned through the bus' interior. On information, Rampal Fire Service Station workers rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

Police, Fire Service, and eyewitnesses said, a fire suddenly erupted on the bus which was parked next to the Khulna-Mongla Highway. By the time firefighters and local police reached the spot, the interior was already burned.

Rampal Police Station Officer in Charge SM Ashraful Alam confirmed the matter.

"The situation is now completely under control. Traffic is back to normal on the highway. Police are investigating who and why set fire to the bus," he said.
